Nature Box Review

First off, HAPPY NATIONAL RUNNING DAY! It doesn’t matter how far you go, so long as you do not stop.

And now, onto my review…

Have you heard of Nature Box? Neither had I until a few weeks ago through the power of Twitter (@NatureBox).

Nature Box is a subscription-based mailing whereby you pay a small fee to have wonderful goodies delivered to you on a monthly basis.  There are numerous types of “subscription boxes” out there – everything from health foods to eco-friendly home items to makeup and beauty products.  I became interested in finding a box suitable for me and did some research but came up short.  Some boxes provide samples while others provide full-sized items; some are more costly while others are more affordable and don’t charge shipping; and some are simply not accepting new customers because of their popularity. Sigh.

As I mentioned, I saw Nature Box mentioned on Twitter and decided to look at what the company had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised. What surprised me even more was their mission:

Discover a Healthier You

NatureBox helps you eat healthier without needing to change your eating habits. We focus on snacks because that’s the easiest habit to change. Do you know that the average American eats almost 25% of their calories from snacking? In fact, snacking is the leading cause of childhood obesity. NatureBox helps you get more out of your day without wasting calories on the bad stuff.

Food You Can Trust

Every NatureBox item is carefully sourced and nutritionist approved. Everything inside your NatureBox will be guilt free so that you can feel great about what you’re eating. You can trust that our products will be made from the most wholesome ingredients and will be minimally processed, if at all.

Together, We Give

For every NatureBox sent out, together we’re helping to feed the hungry. NatureBox donates one meal for every box to feed the over 14 million children in America who go hungry. We believe in doing good and eating well.

I thought the price was reasonable especially since shipping is free.  The products sounded good and I love trying new things, particularly healthy snacks that I can bring to work. Nature Box provides full-size variety and a little surprise each month.

Here is what subscribers received in May (arrived on the doorstep first week in June):

I haven’t sampled everything in my Nature Box yet but the masa crisps and the cinnamon spiced almonds are great (I’m trying to spread out my treats!). I liked how the company included a breakdown of each bag and the nutritional content, and also offered up a simple recipe utilizing one of the snacks. Great idea!

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and my first month. I think the price is reasonable and comparable to what you would pay in the store for similar items although I’m not sure you’d be able to find everything you receive in a health foods store or in the organic section of your supermarket.

Another great thing about Nature Box? There are no hidden fees ($19.95/month + free shipping) and you can cancel at any time unlike other subscription boxes out there. So, if you’re looking for some great full-sized snacks that are a little different for a reasonable price, I highly suggest you check out Nature Box. You won’t be disappointed!

NOTE: These views are strictly my own and I was not compensated by the company in any way.

  1. I don’t subscribe and as of right now I probably wouldn’t. I don’t know if it would be worth it or not! I’m glad you like it though 🙂

Mike and I ran 5 miles on the trails with new friends yesterday for National Running Day!

  2. This is such a cool idea! I’ve never heard of these subscription boxes before, and this one sounds really neat! I will have to check it out. I hope future boxes are up to par 🙂

  3. i just ordered my box today, will be receiving it within a week and i will let you know how it goes. Great pricing compared to most snacks at Sams or local markets and you dont have to worry about going to the store and getting tempted by all the other snacks in the aisle.
