>Saying Thanks

>Happy Veterans Day! Obviously, today is more than a day off from work or cashing in on Rock ‘n’ Roll Series’ discounts. It’s the one dedicated day each year to celebrate and give thanks to those men and women who have served or are currently serving this great country we live in.  To all of you – thank you…times a million. Plus 27. Squared. See? Thank you just isn’t enough.

I hope you know more about veterans than Ali G does.
Unfortunately, I don’t think we say thank you enough. Day after day our service members put their lives on the line so we can continue living ours, in a country that allows us to be whom we want, when we want, and how we want. This is a running blog so what does all of this have to do with running?
Without this freedom – that never truly is free – none of us would be running through our neighborhoods, in races of our choosing, or with our friends and family. Think of a world where that wouldn’t be possible. It’s hard to imagine.
Even though Veterans Day is almost over, it’s not too late to say thank you to our military heroes. I encourage you to check out organizations like Soldiers’ Angels (who I’ve volunteered with for 3+ years) or the Wounded Warrior Project – amazing organizations that pay thanks to our heroes and give them the support they need!
