Hello! It’s been some time since my last post because, as you can see, I’ve been busy spring cleaning! What’s with all of these changes?!
I have made the jump from Blogger to WordPress.org. Two weeks ago I just became fed up. Blogger wasn’t letting me do what I wanted to so I decided that for longevity reasons and for the ability to grow this blog, I needed to make a switch. I also wanted to ensure that I own my own content. I decided that I would acquire my own URL (I feel so official and important), self host through a dedicated web hosting company, and use WordPress for all of my blogging needs. This has taken a LOT of getting used to (CSS? XHTML? Say what?!). As such, it has also taken more time than I originally expected. I didn’t want to "unveil" this new baby until it was 100% ready. I’m 98% there. So, what still needs to be done?
- I need to play around with the header. I’m not very tech savvy when it comes to this but I’m trying. I took the header picture back in February and I kind of just love it but the header text needs some additional work.
- I need to ensure that my race recap links are re-directed to this new site so I can close out my Blogger account.
- I need to make sure that those who previously subscribed to my blog through Google know about these ch-ch-ch-changes.
- I need to start writing again! I have so much bottled up that I’d like to share and this coming week is the week to do it. Plus, I have a little special gift for you – a thank you for hanging in there during this transition!
You will see some minor changes happening over the next few days as I further figure out and play around with some of the layout and spacing. I’m very Type A so please bear with me. 🙂
Any recommendations/tips for me? Have you made the switch from Blogger to WordPress.org? How do you like it?
